π’ Cruise Ships in Key West: Love βEm or Hate βEm?
|
Hey Reader, It's Throwback Tuesday, and today I'm wading into a topic that can get a LITTLE controversial in Key West... Cruise ships. π’π΄ People have opinions. STRONG opinions. π Some people love seeing the ships come into port and all those visitors getting their first little taste of Key West. Others would happily wave goodbye to every giant ship sailing away from the island. But whether you're arriving on one, watching one pull into port, or trying to figure out why Duval suddenly seems a whole lot busier... It's helpful to know where those ships actually dock. π Check out my guide to Where Cruise Ships Dock in Key West here:β Wait... There's More Than One Dock?Yep! Depending on the ship, passengers can arrive at different spots around Key West. And that can make a difference in what your first few minutes on the island look like. Some passengers step off practically in the middle of everything. Others have a little farther to go before they're exploring Old Town. If you're coming to Key West on a cruise, knowing where you're docking can help you make MUCH better use of those precious few hours on the island. But Let's Talk About the Elephant... Er, Cruise Ship... in the Room π’Cruise ships and Key West have been the subject of plenty of debate. And I know people in this community fall on both sides of it. I also know that for a lot of people, a cruise stop was their very first introduction to Key West. They stepped off that ship... Walked around Old Town... Had a slice of Key lime pie... Heard some live music... And thought: "I need to come back here." Next thing you know, they're planning an entire Key West vacation. Funny how this island gets you. π΄ So I'm Curious...Let's open this one up for discussion. How do YOU feel about cruise ships in Key West? π’ Love them. They're an important part of tourism. π΄ I'd rather see fewer ships and smaller crowds. π€ I can see both sides. 𧳠A cruise is actually how I discovered Key West! Hit reply and tell me what you think. And yes... you are absolutely allowed to disagree with me, and with each other. π I'm genuinely curious where everyone lands on this one. Until next Tuesday, keep exploring, keep asking questions, and always keep it Key West-y. π΄ Cheers, Michele βοΈπ
