Happy (belated!) Fourth, a July winner & this week's Key West trivia πŸŒ΄πŸŽ†

Hey Reader,

I hope you had an amazing Fourth of July! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŽ†

I'm a little behind getting this email out... but for a very good reason.

I had such a wonderful time with family that I honestly just didn't want it to end. Sometimes you just have to soak up every extra minute while you can.

I hope your holiday was filled with good food, great company, and maybe a few fireworks too!

Speaking of July...

Have you ever visited Key West in July?

If so, what's your favorite festival?

I still can't decide.

πŸ‹ The Key Lime Festival?

Or...

✍️ Hemingway Days?

They're both so much fun, and each has its own unique Key West personality.

If you're thinking about heading south this month, I've updated everything you need to know.

πŸ₯ Drumroll, please...

πŸŽ‰ Congratulations, Richard Kirkpatrick! πŸŽ‰

Richard, I'll be reaching out soon to get your mailing address so I can pack up a box full of Key West fun and get it headed your way!

Thank you to everyone who plays along every week. Reading your trivia answers has become one of my favorite parts of putting these emails together.

πŸŒ… This Week's Island Sponsor

This week's island sponsor is one of my absolute favorites...

β›΅ Danger Charters

If you've never experienced their Wind & Wine Sunset Sail, put it on your Key West bucket list.

There's just something special about sailing into a Key West sunset with a glass of wine in hand while the island slowly disappears behind you.

🧠 Trivia Time!

Last week's question was:

Who is Duval Street named after?

The answer:

🌴 William Pope DuVal

He was Florida's first territorial governor, and when Key West's streets were named, they honored him with what would become the most famous street on the island.

I have to laugh a little...

I wonder what Governor DuVal would think if he could stroll down the street that bears his name today.

Roosters wandering around.

Live music pouring out of every doorway.

People carrying frozen drinks.

Street performers.

And thousands of visitors making memories every single year.

I have a feeling he'd probably enjoy it. πŸ˜„

❓ This Week's Trivia Question

Let's see who knows this one...

What happened to the Key West Lighthouse in 1969?

Hit reply with your answer to get entered into this month's Fun in Key West drawing! 🎁

That's it for this week!

Thanks for being here, for reading these emails, and for sharing this little corner of Key West with me each week.

Talk soon,
