Hey Reader, What. A. Week. Honestly... I'm a little overwhelmed. Not in the "there's too much laundry" kind of way. π In the "I can't believe how many of you joined the Fun in Key West Insider Club" kind of way. Thank you. Seriously. Putting together the monthly digital magazines has been one of the most fun projects I've ever worked on. Digging into Key West history, discovering hidden gems, creating playlists, pairing cocktails with books... it's like combining all of my favorite things into one place. For nearly 80 years, Key West didn't have a legal rum distillery, even though rum has been part of the island's history for generations. Paul Menta didn't just open a distillery... he helped change Florida law to make it possible. That's a pretty impressive legacy. And if you visit the distillery today, you're stepping into a building that's had quite a life of its own. Before it became home to handcrafted rum, it served as Jack's Saloon and later housed Key West's original Coca-Cola bottling plant.
