It’s Throwback Tuesday, and I’m taking us down memory lane with one of those spots that feels like it should have its own theme song: Mary Ellen’s Bar. 🎶🍹

I wrote about this place years ago, but you know what? The vibe still hits different. The lights, the music, the bar stools—you walk in and just feel the Key West magic.

What I Loved Then (And Still Love Now)

  • The Frozen Irish Cream Cocktail — Back in the day, they used to float Captain Crunch on top of it. I know, right? That was wildin’. Now they crush cookies instead—and honestly, it’s still fabulous.
  • Laid-back island energy — Not flashy, not over-the-top, but just right.
  • Music that makes your foot tap — You know those bars where you don’t even think about the clocks? Mary Ellen’s is one of those.
