Mr. Coffee’s First Hotel Stay + a Chilly Key West Trivia Twist ❄️🌴

Hey Reader,

We may not be in Key West right now, but we are definitely somewhere warm — hello from sunny (and surprisingly festive) Orlando! 🎄☀️ No snow in sight, and that’s a win in my book.

We’re planning a full week of fun and exploring... theme parks, treats, and all the tropical joy we can find inland. Even Mr. Coffee (our very confused, very opinionated pup) tagged along for the adventure. 🐾 It was his first night in a hotel — and let’s just say he wasn’t so sure about it. He stayed laser-focused on Grandpa unloading the car, clearly suspicious we were moving in forever. 😂

But enough about hotel pups and Florida road trips — let’s chat about what we covered last week!

✨ In Case You Missed It:

Sunday:
Kevin and I wrapped up our Key West adventure with a live chat about what we loved, what surprised us, and what we’re still dreaming about (spoiler: it involves pie and sunsets).
🎥 [Watch the video here on YouTube]

Monday:
We went back in time to the Civil War and talked all about Key West’s role in the Union blockade. Yep — history buffs, this one’s for you.

Wednesday:
And we took a look ahead at what’s happening in the Keys this December — events, parades, lights, and maybe a tropical Santa or two.

🧠 Last Week’s Trivia

We asked: When did the first Margaritaville open in Key West?
And guess what? That was also a bit of a trick question. 😉

🍹 In 1985, Jimmy Buffett opened the first official Margaritaville retail store in Key West — not a restaurant (yet!).
By May 1986, they were serving food, and in 1987, the Duval Street location opened, which is the one many of us know and love.
Bonus fact: the first spot was in Land’s End Village on Caroline Street!

So if you guessed 1985, 1986, or even 1987 — I gave you credit. ‘Cause trivia should be fun, not frustrating, right? 😄

❄️ This Week’s Trivia Question:

Since so many of you are dealing with snow and frost…
Let’s head in the opposite direction:

What is the lowest recorded temperature in Key West?
(No, 75 is not the answer — though we wish it were.)

Hit reply with your guess — and if you’re right, you’ll be entered to win the December Key West Fun Box (stuffed with sunshine-y goodies from the Conch Republic).
I’ll draw a winner on January 1 — so don’t miss out!

More live videos, festive posts, and Florida fun coming your way soon.
As always, thanks for being part of this amazing little Key West–loving crew. I love sharing it all with you! 💛

Cheers —
Michele
