Hey Reader, I'm back! And I have to tell you... I didn't get a whole lot of Fun in Key West work done this week. But my brain? FULL. ๐ I spent the week at a conference learning, listening, taking notes, and coming up with approximately 472 new ideas for things I want to try. Okay, maybe not 472. But it feels like it. So many of the ideas had me thinking about Fun in Key West... new ways to create content, tell stories, share more of the Florida Keys, and make this whole little community even more fun. You know that feeling when you learn something new and suddenly your brain starts going... "I could do THIS..." "And then I could do THAT..." "And WAIT... what if I tried THIS?" That was basically me all week. ๐ Now I just need to figure out which ideas are actually good ideas and which ones were fueled by conference coffee. Stay tuned. ๐ด ๐ And Yes... We Did Explore a LittleThank you to everyone who sent me New Hampshire recommendations! We couldn't possibly get to all of them, but we did manage to squeeze in a few new places. And you know I wasn't going somewhere new without checking out the food. ๐ ๐บ The Thirsty Moose 100 beers on tap. ONE HUNDRED. I'll give you one guess who had fun there. Kevin was basically handed a menu and a personal challenge. ๐ ๐ฎ Barrio Tacos. So many tacos. And yes... I ate too much. And no... I don't regret it. It was ALL so good. ๐ Surf The view was amazing. The food was outstanding. Definitely one of those places where you sit there for a minute and think, "Yep. This was a good choice." There were several other places you all recommended that we just couldn't squeeze into this trip. Which obviously means we'll have to go back, right? ๐ Seriously, thank you for all the suggestions. I loved reading them, and it made exploring somewhere completely new even more fun. ๐ And Apparently We're Royalty Now...Oh, and I almost forgot one VERY important part of the trip... Kevin and I were crowned King and Queen of the Sock Hop! ๐๐ One night at the conference, we had a Mystery Event, which turned out to be a Sock Hop. And somehow... Kevin and I ended the night wearing the crowns. I don't know that either of us had "become Sock Hop royalty in New Hampshire" on our travel bingo card, but here we are. ๐ So yes, I came home with a brain full of new business ideas, ate entirely too well... AND added "Queen of the Sock Hop" to my rรฉsumรฉ. The answer was... The Atlantic and the Gulf! ๐๐ด Key West gets to sit in a pretty incredible spot, with the Atlantic on one side and the Gulf on the other. And here's one of my favorite things about being surrounded by all that water... You can watch the sunrise on the Atlantic side in the morning ๐ , spend the day exploring the island, and then head over to the Gulf side for one of those famous Key West sunsets. ๐ ๐น Not a bad way to bookend a day! All that surrounding water plays a HUGE role in what makes Key West feel like Key West, from the coral reefs and fishing to snorkeling, boating, seafood, and those warm tropical breezes. And Key West is only about 4 miles long and roughly 2 miles wide, so you're never very far from the water. Basically, if you get lost in Key West, just keep walking...
