πͺ Please Tell Me There Are Actually Cookies in the Tin π
|
Hey Reader, It's Throwback Tuesday, and I have a very important childhood question for you... Did your family have THE blue tin? π You know the one. You spot that Royal Dansk Danish Butter Cookie tin sitting on a shelf. You get excited. You open it... 𧡠Buttons. πͺ‘ Needles. π§Ά Thread. NOT A COOKIE IN SIGHT. The disappointment was real. π But today, we're putting the cookies back in the blue tin! π Get my Copycat Royal Dansk Danish Butter Cookie recipe hereβ I LOVE These CookiesThere's just something about those buttery little cookies covered in crunchy sugar. They're simple. They're not fancy. And somehow it's very easy to eat approximately 17 of them before realizing what you've done. So, of course, I had to figure out how to make them at home. And the best part? They're surprisingly easy. Butter, sugar, egg, vanilla, flour and a few other simple ingredients turn into some seriously yummy cookies. But I Break One Royal Dansk Rule...I don't bother making all the different shapes. No pretzel. No little rectangle. No fancy swirls. Mine are round, topped with coarse sugar, and delicious. Good enough for me. π I also tend to bake mine a little less because I like them slightly softer and chewier. Want that classic Royal Dansk crunch? Leave them in the oven a little longer until they're golden. And Now I Need to Know...What happened to the blue tins in YOUR house after the cookies were gone? πͺ More cookies went in them. 𧡠Sewing supplies. Obviously. π Random household stuff. π I still have one somewhere and I'm not entirely sure what's in it. Hit reply and tell me! Bonus points if your family had a blue tin that hadn't actually contained cookies since approximately 1987. π Until next Tuesday, keep the cookie jar full and always keep it Key West-y. π΄πͺ Cheers, Michele βοΈπ
