π΄ Where Do the Locals Eat? Maybe That's the Wrong Question...
|
Hey Reader, It's Throwback Tuesday, and today we're tackling one of the questions I get asked more than almost any other: "Where do the locals eat in Key West?" And honestly? I think sometimes we're asking the wrong question. π π Check out the full post here: Don't get me wrong. There are absolutely places locals love. Places like El Siboney, BO's Fish Wagon, and Hogfish Bar & Grill have built loyal followings for a reason. But one thing I've learned after countless trips to the island is that some of the best meals happen when you stop trying to eat like a local... ...and start exploring like one. My Favorite Key West Food StrategyWander. Seriously. Take a side street you've never walked down. Duck into a place because it smells amazing. Grab a seat somewhere that wasn't on your itinerary. Talk to the bartender. Ask the server where they go on their day off. That's how you find the hidden gems. Some of my favorite Key West discoveries weren't on a "Top 10" list. They were places I stumbled across while heading somewhere else entirely. And honestly, that's part of the magic. A Little UpdateSince I first put together this guide, I've discovered a few more favorites myself. One of the newest? Doing Work Coffee. Great coffee, fantastic people, and exactly the kind of place you find when you wander a little off the main path. Those unexpected discoveries are often the ones that end up becoming traditions. Quick QuestionWhat's the best restaurant you've ever found completely by accident? Not because it was #1 on TripAdvisor. Just because you wandered in and got lucky. Hit reply and tell me your story. Those are always my favorite recommendations. Until next Tuesday, stay curious, stay hungry, and always keep it Key West-y. π΄ Cheers, MicheleβοΈπ |
